"Cozy Interior"

These rooms are cozy, quiet, and since they are interior, have no view. The rooms do have windows, but look at an interior space directly between wings of the hotel.

The furniture is well fitted to the space with a chair or satee sitting at the end of the bed facing the flat screen TV. Not quite enough room for a spirited yoga work-out (our guests walk half a block to the studio for that). Perfect for the single traveler or light packers.

With no windows facing main street and being isolated from the exuberant bar, these rooms are quiet. They are smaller than our other rooms; “cozy” is how our guests describe them.

Bedding:

  • One King bed with pillow top mattresses.
  • Sorry, these rooms will not accommodate a roll-away.

Value:

  • While smaller and than our other guest rooms, these rooms are our quietest rooms in the hotel and our best for a budget.

All Guest Rooms Include:

  • Terry cloth bathrobes.
  • Pressed Egyptian cotton sheets with cotton duvet covers and blankets from Nina Campbell Designs.
  • Room and bathroom design by Nina Campbell, the British designer.

Bathrooms at Telluride Historic Hotel

What is the design of the bathrooms like in our historic Telluride hotel?

The bathroom have a richly tiled, classic “renovation” period style with deep porcelain tub/shower combination and porcelain sink with gray veined marble surround. The style is classic and understated – with the sense of a British country manor house. The refined styling is by Nina Campbell.

Terry bathrobes are in each room. Many guests wear them to the two hot tubs on the roof, overlooking the town.

Bath amenities are extensive and by Gilchrist & Soames.

Renovation Décor by Nina Campbell

It is Nina’s elegant design wisdom that mixes traditional pieces and fine detailing (diamond beveled white tiles, brass and crystal chandeliers, rich damask upholstery, layers of pillows) to create a Victorian ambience while realizing the modern luxury expectations of our guests with heated bathroom floors, large flat panel TVs, iPod docks, and comfy settees.

In our halls, rooms, and our vibrant restaurant and bars - the social life hub of Telluride - Nina shows her passions for color and pattern. She layers wallpaper, colors, and damasks to create a restrained Victorian ambience here at our historic Telluride hotel.

This is the refined luxury that Nina brings our guests.

Here are the five books that Nina has written about design and décor for country homes, palaces and swank nightclubs in her home country, England.

Awards for Telluride Historic Hotel

Awards of Excellence
for Our Telluride Historic Hotel

Our small, 26 room boutique hotel in the heart of Telluride has recently received these awards and accolades.

AAA Four Diamond for Telluride Hotels
In 2012, we were awarded for the first time AAA’s award of Four Diamonds.

The team in the hotel, the restaurants and the bars worked hard to attain this accolade. I am so appreciative of their work for our guests.

Condé Nast Traveler Magazine was kind enough to honor the hotel and our team with two accolades in 2011:

#1 Best Ski Hotel for Service – in all of North America from the readers of Condé Nast Traveler Magazine - 2011.
Imagine all the famous, refined hotels that we were being compared against and I am struck by the dedication of our small team here and what they accomplished with their friendly, “at-home” style- #1. Wow,

# 5 Best Ski Hotel – all around – in North America from the readers of Condé Nast Traveler Magazine - 2011.
What can we say? All those incredible resorts that were in the running and our guest rooms, bars and restaurants came up #5 in all of North America.

Tripadvisor came in with its Award of Excellence - 2012.

Not every one of our guests love our unique and historic hotel, but those who do, truly want to express their gratitude to the team here. We are ranked at 4.5 stars with -
51 Excellent | 18 Very Good | 7 Average | 3 Poor | 2 Terrible.
As I say, we are not the right fit for all guests!

Historic Hotels of the Rockies
This is an obvious accolade for us. Thanks to our engineering, housekeeping and design team that keeps us vertical and sparkling.

What about our food and wine awards?
Year after year we win them – for our fine dining, our casual Parlor Café and of course our famous Western 1895 original saloon.

  1. Skiing magazine Best Steakhouse
  2. Top 100 Bars – by Nightclub and Bar Magazine ( the Editors must have had a fine time)
  3. Wine Spectator Award of Excellence – years running
  4. Forbes Traveler – Top 10 ”Hottest” Aprés Ski Bar. Well, we are the “heart” of Tellruide

Thanks to the Team
My great thanks to our team – to Mike, Bo, Cameron, Steve, Cory, Chef Erich, Dirk, Amy, and Cathie - for bringing these accolades.
